Two scenic spots in Pingtan, Fujian province have been approved as 3A national tourist sites on Dec 30, 2015.
Pingtan got approval from the Provincial Department of Land and Resources to set up a provincial geopark.
The tourism authority announced that it will soon unveil the first electrical map of the island city, local media reported.
Construction of Beauty Crown, a 10-billion-yuan tourism project, officially started in Pingtan on May 18, ptnet.cn reports.
