At the third China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is ongoing in Shanghai on Nov 10, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality held a symposium on investment and trade cooperation, which saw 19 agreements concluded.

The projects covered manufacturing, commerce, software and information technology services, electronic information and intelligent equipment, and the total contract value came in at 28.62 billion yuan ($4.32 billion).

Sun Zhiwen, manager of Greenland Group's Southwest China branch, said that the agreement signed at the symposium for the launch of the group's global commodity trading port in Chongqing will allow the company to contribute to the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

During the first three quarters of this year, Chongqing's GDP grew by 2.6 percent year-on-year, making Chongqing one of the areas with the fastest economic recoveries in China amid the novel coronavirus epidemic.

By 2019, Chongqing had attracted 293 Fortune Global 500 companies to base themselves there. With the continued development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, Chongqing will see more development opportunities.
