The smart energy industry park funded by Envision Group began construction in Jiangyin on April 18.

The park will include a series of projects, such as a wind power testing center and blade research and development center, aiming to build a world-class smart fan enterprise, energy storage system enterprise and smart internet platform. It is expected to earn revenue of 100 billion yuan ($14.9 billion) per year when completed.

The Envision AESC smart battery project received the most investment with 23 billion yuan. The project aims to produce smart IoT lithium batteries and electrode materials.

In recent years, Jiangyin has been committed to the development of IoT and smart energy industries and has attracted a number of well-known wind and power equipment manufacturers, laying a solid foundation for the smart energy industry park.

As a world leader in digital energy technology, Envision was founded in 2007 and headquartered in Shanghai. This April, the company announced that its battery industry fund, Envision AESC, had completed the acquisition of Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC), previously owned by Nissan Motor Co Ltd. This acquisition includes a controlling stake in all the power battery production bases in Japan, US & UK.

Furthermore, Envision AESC also acquired the entire share capital of NEC Energy Devices, Ltd., a battery electrode manufacturing company owned by NEC Corporation. The completion of this acquisition marked the official establishment of Envision AESC Group Ltd. By setting up a complete global value chain and expanding its business from Japan, the US, and Europe to the Chinese market, Envision AESC Group is now closer to realizing its goal of providing global electric vehicle producers with advanced solutions.
