10月18日，首屆中國中小企業博覽會今日順利在廣州開鑼。首屆“中博會”是一次層次較高、規模較大的盛會，共設展位1860個，8個行業展區，除西藏和臺灣外全國30個省區、直轄市和香港、澳門兩個特別行政區共1950家企業參展。廣東、黑龍江、山西、浙江、上海等省市派出了龐大的參展陣容。新華社報道如下：More
than 5,000 delegates from home and abroad have flocked to the capital of
South China's Guangdong Province to take part in the first fair for small-and medium-sized enterprises
(SMEs).
The fair, jointly organized by the National Development and Reform
Commission, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and the
Guangdong provincial government, is showcasing the great achievements of
the country's SMEs.
Showcase做名詞表示“玻璃陳列柜，展示地”，其動詞形式表示“展示，突出地展示，尤指為獲取利益”。例如：In the financial
services section, stock-trading desks had been set up showcasing the
computers.（在金融業務部門中，股票交易桌已被布置好展示計算機。）
據統計，參會的國內外采購商共5000多家，其中包括24家全球500強及世界知名商貿企業，來自30多個國家和地區的國際中小企業采購商達1500多人。
