Rarely is a major scientific breakthrough so darn cute.
Researchers at Cornell University in New York state and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, announced on Wednesday the first litter of puppies born through in vitro fertilization.
The seven puppies - five beagles and two beagle-cocker spaniel mixes-were born on July 10. The results were published on Wednesday in the science journal PLOSONE.
