State Grid's considerate service ensures calligraphy festivals held without hitch

The 41st Lanting Calligraphy Festival was launched at Tianzhang Temple Square in the Lanting Scenic Area in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on April 1, where calligraphers from home and abroad gathered to celebrate the art form. State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company made comprehensive efforts in advance to ensure the safe and stable supply of electricity for the event.
On the third day of the third lunar month in 353 AD, calligraphy master Wang Xizhi invited literati and talents to gather at the Lanting Pavilion in the shade of Kuaiji Mountain, where they performed the qushui liushang, in which intellectuals would sit by a little winding creek and enjoy drinks. Since then, scholars and literati from the area have often gathered on this day to hold events at the Lanting Pavilion, becoming a tradition that has lasted for a thousand years.
The inaugural Lanting Calligraphy Festival took place on April 22, 1985, and since then, every third day of the third lunar month, renowned calligraphers from around the world have gathered at the Lanting Pavilion to participate in a series of calligraphy-themed activities. To ensure the power supply for this festival, State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company established a special team in advance and coordinated with the event organizers. Based on the electricity consumption of the scenic area and the power requirements of various on-site activities, they formulated detailed power supply and emergency repair plans.
During preparations for the event, the customer managers of the local power supply department, together with the electrical personnel of the Lanting Scenic Area, conducted multiple site inspections to ensure the power supply points and surrounding areas were stable. They conducted special inspections on electrical equipment and important lines, focusing on transformers, high and low-voltage switchgear and cable joints. They identified any defects and assisted in rectification. On the day of the event, staff members worked in different areas, providing power supply support point-to-point, ensuring readiness to address any issues.
Emergency power generation vehicles were deployed as backup power sources to guarantee uninterrupted power supply during the event, contributing to the successful conclusion of the festival.
Shaoxing has been building the brand of the Lanting Calligraphy Festival for decades, with calligraphy art deeply integrated into the city's cultural heritage. In the future, State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company said it will use the experience gained during the Lanting Calligraphy Festival to refine cultural event power supply standards, deepen cooperation with the cultural and tourism departments, and provide quality power supply services.
