Jeffrey Sachs: US should stay out of the Taiwan question

When asked about the claim that "Taiwan could be the next Ukraine", economist Jeffrey Sachs told us: "If the US stays out of this issue, it will lead to peace in the Taiwan Strait." He warns that American intervention has a track record of turning tensions into full-blown crises — just look at Ukraine. Sachs believes the US could risk conflict if it meddles in the issue.
