In an interview with MediaUnlocked, former minister of transport of Malaysia Ong Tee Keat argued that if every country only produced for its domestic market, there would be no global trade at all. Wang Huiyao, president of the Center for China and Globalization, said the European Commission "may be really geopolitically driven", given that Europe exports far more cars to China than China exports to Europe.
