After the Spring Festival holiday, to ensure the safe use of electricity in the upcoming new semester, during the winter vacation, staff members from State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company organized inspections of electrical equipment at Suichang County Experimental Primary School in Lishui, Zhejiang province.

During the winter vacation, the school's electrical equipment was mostly idle, lacking effective maintenance. Coupled with the impact of winter and extreme weather, there was a high risk of power equipment due to line issues, loose connections, aging lines and malfunctioning of leakage protection devices, on top of this, there has been a sudden increase in electricity usage and excessive loads after the school resumed, which could lead to safety hazards.

The company conducted detailed inspections and maintenance of the power distribution cabinets, power lines and leakage protection switches in areas such as the school's distribution room, teaching buildings and cafeteria during the winter vacation.

Special attention was paid to electrical equipment, switches, sockets and other potential devices prone to leakage in places such as teaching buildings, laboratories and student dormitories. For identified safety hazards that could be addressed on-site, immediate actions were taken, while issues that could not be resolved on the spot were reported to the school, with follow-ups to ensure that the school made the necessary corrections. Such methods are effectively eliminating safety risks and ensuring the safety of campus electricity usage.

"The power company is more considerate than us. With the new semester approaching, they took the initiative to inspect our electrical equipment, ensuring worry-free electricity usage for teachers and students and showing timely care," said a school manager about the State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company staff members who conducted the inspections on Feb 10.

In the future, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company, building on the campus electrical safety inspections, will carry out activities such as promoting safety knowledge on electricity usage in schools, aiming to widely disseminate and raise awareness of safe electricity usage among teachers and students.
