Hong Kong athletes who won Olympic glory

Editor's note: Athletes from China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have participated in the Olympic Games since 1952, winning four medals. The most recent was Cheung Ka-long, who won the men's foil individual gold at the Tokyo Olympics. Previous Olympic medals were one gold from windsurfing in 1996, one silver from table tennis in 2004 and one bronze from keirin in 2012.

Lee Lai Shan made history at Atlanta 1996 by winning Hong Kong's first-ever gold medal when she won the women's windsurfing event. Lee's victory at the 1996 Atlanta Centennial Olympics added a glorious chapter to the region's 44-year Olympic history.
Lee Lai-Shan started windsurfing at the age of 12. She began to take part in windsurfing competitions at the age of 17 and joined the Hong Kong team at 19.
