Wang is the first author of six monographs including Study on Key Technologies for Earthen Ruins Protection and Study on Ancient Murals Standards, the winner of more than 10 technological awards at national, provincial or ministerial levels, the winner of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation - Science and Technology Innovation Award, and the owner of more than 20 licensed technological patents.

Wang headed and completed the formulation of five national and industrial technical standards and won multiple honors including "National Excellent Workers of Science and Technology", "Top-notch Innovative Talent in Publicity and Cultural Systems", winner of "May 1st Labor Medal of Gansu Province", "Excellent Expert of the Ministry of Culture", "Excellent Expert of Gansu Province", and "Advanced Worker of Gansu Province", and is included in the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project of China and the Leading Talents of Gansu Province project. Wang is also an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
